The Original Isaac Parker

When Mike started the company in 2003, he was looking for a name that stood for an intelligent, thoughtful way of doing business. His great-great-grandfather provided the solution.

The orginal Isaac Parker, Isaac Parker Bean, was a master cabinet maker from Derbyshire. For over 90 years he worked tirelessly to hone his skills until his death in 1974 aged 103. That tireless dedication to craft is what we aspire to today.

On Isaac’s 100th birthday, the Derby Telegraph reported:

Possibly the only centinerian who still does a day’s work. Work for Mr Bean is keeping his hand in with the plane, for although he officially handed over his cabinet making business to his son Frank, twenty years ago, Mr Bean cannot be kept out of the workshop.
